We both managed to pull off wins at Newtons Nation this weekend, a great way to end our coaching and racing road trip. We pitted with fellow For The Riders athletes, Matt Dodd(finished 7th)and Rhys Willemse(finished 3rd)and had an awesome weekend of racing and laughs.

I finally found out who the heck Newton is….Barry Newton, the original founder of the Newtons Nation event, makes sense I guess! Located at the Mt. Panorama venue in Bathurst, internationally known as a stop on the V8 Super Cars circuit, Newtons Nation is a huge action sports festival with a main stage and bands playing all weekend. Action sports include street luge, BMX mini ramp, BMX and MTB Dirt Jumping, trials, Scooters, Parcour and more.

The DH track was short, dry and fast. Not much room for error as times were going to be tight. There was quite a bit of sprinting involved, out of corners, along straights etc., some fun jumps and tricky corners. A good variety to keep you on your toes for a minute 17 for Chris and a minute 27 for me. Short!

We want to thank Rocky Trail Entertainment and Newtons Nation for putting on a great event with proper prize money and great coverage, the way events should be! Not as big of a turn out this year with a lot of riders already overseas but some fast riders and a great event, none the less.
